Presentation Evening at The Marist School

Presentation Evening at The Marist School

Top performers at The Marist were recognised at the school’s annual Senior Presentation Evening on Friday 16 November.

Current Year 12 and 13 students were awarded a variety of prizes for their brilliant GCSE and AS Level results last academic year and it was wonderful to welcome back our recent Year 13 Leavers to celebrate their outstanding A Level achievements.

As well as presentations to past and current students, this year’s ceremony featured a wonderful performance of ‘A Million Dreams’ from The Greatest Showman by the Senior Choir; an address by the Principal, Mr McCloskey; and Elizabeth (Year 12) took to the stage to sing ‘As long as he needs me’ from Lionel Bart’s ‘Oliver Twist’.

Our Guest Speaker for this year was Dr Mariana Sinclair, BMBS, BSc, BA (Hons). Bewildered teacher incidental banker and proud doctor, former pupil Mariana spoke about her journey since attending The Marist School and how why it doesn’t matter if you haven’t got a plan yet.

Mariana is currently working as a Trainee General Practitioner/Junior Doctor (specialising in obstetrics and gynaecology) in the Kent, Surrey and Sussex NHS Deanery in Brighton.

The evening concluded with a Reply by the Head Girls, Naoise and Claudia, and Abigail (Year 13) played a superb performance of ‘Sax in the City’ on the saxophone.
