Festive Fun At The Marist Christmas Fayre

Festive Fun At The Marist Christmas Fayre

On Saturday 1 December, the school’s annual Christmas Fayre took place with the event raising a fantastic sum of £6,400. Always a festive highlight of the calendar, this year’s Christmas Fayre, organised and run by The Marist Friends, proved to be a huge success and a wonderful family event.

The Christmas Fayre featured fifty external, internal and charity stalls selling a wide range of items including candles, soaps, beauty products, jewellery, cards, balloons, fashion accessories, and Christmas decorations. There were also many fabulous stalls run by our own Marist parents, staff and children, including Santa’s Grotto; Pick ‘n’ Mix Sweets; Bottle and Chocolate Tombola; and the Wishing Tree. Coworth Park Hotel were also in attendance and ran an amazing ‘Design a Snowman’ competition for the children.

There was plenty to eat and drink at the Fayre with Year 3 running a tasty food stall selling samosas and hot dogs, whilst The Marist Friends provided festive mulled wine, hot chocolate and mince pies for everyone to enjoy. Entertainment was provided by the School choir and orchestra, plus there were some great solo performances. Visitors were also encouraged to join in with some carol singing.

The Hamper Raffle was a huge success, once again! Themes of this year’s hampers included ‘Cocktail’ and ‘Spice’ and thank you to all our parents for their generous Hamper donations.

We are delighted to announce that the Fayre raised £6,400 for the new music recording studio. In addition, £545 was raised from the charity bucket collection which will be donated to the local homeless charity, The Hope Hub. This amount also includes a donation from the Sunningdale Christmas Lights event, collected by one of our Nursery parents.

Thank you to everyone who came to the Fayre and supported The Marist Friends. Merry Christmas to you all.
