Audiences Wowed by Oliver! Production

Victorian London was brought to life at The Marist School, Sunninghill, as pupils, staff and Milo the dog took to the stage to perform this year’s Whole School Production of Lionel Bart’s ‘Oliver!’

Based on the classic novel by Charles Dickens, the production was a collaboration between the music and drama departments and featured outstanding performances from girls in Year 5 up to Year 13, including musical accompaniment by the orchestra and choir. The two sell-out performances featured choreographed dance numbers and powerful songs as the audience followed Oliver on his journey to find a home, a family and most importantly love.

Speaking about the production, Miss Emily White, Head of Drama, said,

“It has been an absolute pleasure working with such a talented and motivated cast. This is the first time that we have produced a musical with pupils from both the Prep and Senior Phases of the school and it has been a joy to see the girls working together and inspiring one another. I hope audiences enjoyed watching it as much as we did working on it.”

We are incredibly grateful to everyone who has helped us with the show; a big thank you must go to Mrs Ellwood who has designed and painted a stunning set and Mrs Bowley who has worked tirelessly to source costumes and make last minute alterations. We must also thank the Site team who have built the set and many of the props.”
